Professional Career
After college, I entered Wall Street where I have pursued three career paths: municipal bond dealer, author and lecturer, and expert witness.
1 - Bond Market Experience
1954-57: Security analyst and trader, Rand & Co., New York.
In 1958, I started a tax-exempt bond department in a New York Stock Exchange member firm, where I became registered with the Exchange. I conducted a trading operation in a wide variety of municipal securities in all states.
1958-61: Manager, Municipal Bond Dept., Granger & Co., New York, N.Y.
In 1961, I co-founded a municipal bond firm, where I participated as underwriter in several hundred competitive and negotiated bond issues per year.
1961-79: President, Northrop & White, Inc., Wilson White Inc., and successor bond firms, New York.
In 1979, I continued trading in the municipal secondary market; and as competitive manager, participated in prominent public underwritings.
1979-84: Manager, Underwriting, Sales and Trading, Matthews & Wright Inc., New York, N.Y.
The balance of my trading desk years were mainly devoted to high-yield tax-exempt bonds:
1984-1992: Manager, Special Situations Bond Departments, Glickenhaus & Co., New York, N.Y., First Interregional Equity Corp., and Barre & Co., Inc., N.J.
1992-2001: Registered representative (NYC) B.T.S., Inc.
2001-2003: Registered principal, Temper of the Times, Mamaroneck, NY.
2 - Publications, etc.
In 1986 Mr White published a book for underwriters, The Municipal Bond Market: Basics, The Financial Press, Jersey City, N.J. It remains in print with sales approaching 10,000.

In 1991 I wrote a work designed for high net worth individuals: The Municipal Bond Investment Advisor, Probus Publishing, Chicago. Sold out and under revision.
In 2000 I published a professional handbook: The Municipal Bond Market: Fundamentals, Vantage Press, New York. It remains in print
In 2011, I conducted a nationwide, seven-session U.S. Bank seminar on the municipal bond market, via modern technology.
3 - Expert Witness
I now serve as an expert witness in court and arbitration cases involving municipal securities.
